5 Beauty Buys I Have Loved Through Lockdown

It’s funny isn’t it, the fact that all social situations were basically nonexistent for those many months didn’t stop the speed at which the beauty industry works. New releases practically everyday (some meh, good, some great!) and a never ending thirst for the next ‘new thing’.

I’ve put together a little list of things I’ve been loving lately (on the days I have actually made an effort!) so let’s jump straight in…

Some products* featured in this post have been previously gifted to me. This has had absolutely no influence on my own opinion or thoughts within this post.

Spectrum Collections
Zodiac
Lipsticks

£12.99 each

It is a well known fact in my family that Spectrum Collections is my not so secret obsession. The brand is based in Wales and was founded by sisters Sophie and Hannah (which I LOVE as my sister Emma is my best friend). It all started in their garage at home and has grown into something so inspiring and amazing. Probably my favourite brand origin story to be honest.

The Zodiac Lipstick Collection has become a daily staple of mine. No look is complete without one of these babies! Super creamy, pigmented and long lasting. Everything you could possibly want for your perfect pout.

I also wanted to mention the print in the background. It’s by a business called Always Tired Co (can be found on Insta and Etsy), if you’re looking for sassy prints for a bargain then he’s your guy.

Bye Bye Blemish
Witch Hazel and Tea Tree Toner*

£5.99

This is hands down one of my favourite products of all time. It’s has transformed my skin and I honestly couldn’t be without it now.

Bye Bye Blemish has been around in the US since 1998. Their Original Drying Lotion also known as ‘Hollywood’s secret weapon against pimples’ is used by backstage make up artists and really lives up to its title.

The brand relaunched in the UK last year and began expanding the range from January with a toner, exfoliating gel, serums and more. I can’t wait to see what else Bye Bye Blemish has in store!

BuBu Skincare
#YouPucker Lip Pumping Mask

£5

Officially obsessed with BuBu Skincare. The range of masks which has been inspired by K Beauty (so bang on trend and right up my street!) delivers selfie ready results throughout from hydrating to exfoliating and everything in between. The brand ethos is all about self love and being confident in your own skin. Something we could all use a hell of a lot more of.

The #YouPucker Lip Pumping Mask is hands down the best lip mask I have ever tried! It was so comfortable compared to other brands in my personal experience and actually stayed on my lips without me having to contort into some thoroughly uncomfortable position which was a first.

‘What makes bubu masks so magical is their Advanced Glitterati Hydrogel Structure – a globally patented, thermo-sensitive, water soluble hydrogel. The solid gel reacts to skin/body temperature to release key actives encapsulated within the structure and maximises penetration.’

This ensures a naturally plumped effect without the need for needles. It’s also sparkly and I am ALL for that life.

Will 100% be purchasing the rest of the mask range in the future.

BPerfect Cosmetics X Jah Clientele Palette

£34.99

BPerfect Cosmetics was founded in Belfast in 2013 by Brendan McDowell. The range of on trend products has grown and gone from strength to strength since then (did you know that the Queen of YouTube herself NikkiTutorials loves the Carnival Palette?).

I cannot tell you how long I had coveted the gorgeous BPerfect Cosmetics x Jah Clientele Palette.

It’s got a bit of something in there for everyone to take you from a simple daytime look to full on glamour puss.

I’m really loving discovering new colour combinations with this bad boy and the quality is superb.

It was designed in collaboration with MUA makeupwithjah and I have to say she absolutely killed it in creating possibly the most versatile palette in my collection (which was created with a variety of skin tones in mind). The perfect travel companion when space is limited.

London Copyright
Blush and Highlight* Palettes

£12.50 each

London Copyright are a brand it is impossible not to fall in love with. They are also one of the first brands to ever have taken a chance on me as a newbie beauty blogger and for that I will always be so grateful.

From my first dip into the blush palette I was hooked and the highlighters just cemented my love. They are blinding (I do love a good glow!) and also work beautifully as a quad of shimmer shadows.

Just two affordable face palettes that tick all the boxes! Both are vegan, cruelty free and packaged in completely recyclable cardboard palettes. The pans themselves are magnetic and can be purchased separately. Perfect for customising your perfect combination or replacing a much loved favourite.

London Copyright was born out of the love for creativity, uniqueness and empowering individuality. They stand out from the crowd in the best way possible and I cannot recommend them enough (I don’t want to prattle on but they also have the most awesome eyeshadow palettes and lipsticks!).

What products have you been loving lately? Have you found that you have discovered new favourites or perhaps stumbled across old reliables? I would love to know!
